http://www.learner.org/interactives/literature/story/fulltext.html after reading this you should write about how Mustazza’s article/criticism helps you understand Glaspell’s work, their relationship, differences, similarities. what do you understand to be Mustazza’s argument? How valid is it? Why? Which part(s) do you dispute or disagree with, and why? Just as importantly, how does the primary texts’ being by the same author complicate this question in ways which were not present in Essays 1 and 2?

You may also follow Glaspell’s creative lead and rewrite either of her texts in another genre (that is, rewrite “Trifles” as a story or even, if you’d like, a poem or even another genre altogether, such as a news article such as one which is said to have inspired this play in the first place, blog post … OR rewrite “Jury” as a play or, again, another genre of your choice). If you choose this option, you’ll need to include an annotation, or brief (two paragraphs or so) explanation of how Mustazza’s article and our in-class discussion and other activities have informed your creative project (or how your work reflects ore draws on) these, as well as a “Works Cited” page citing that article and whichever primary text you’re rewriting.
