Writing Assignment/Paper
Writing and writing well is a skill any culinarian should take seriously. There are/may be many times that you are asked to write and submit a proposal, business plan, summary, report, etc What you turn in or give out at a meeting is a reflection of you and you want to appear confident in both your verbal and written communications.
Below, I have given you the names of reputable Pastry Chefs. You are to write a paper using one of the Pastry Chefs provided or a Pastry Chef of your choosing. Some of the information you may want to include are: where they were born; what influenced them to become a Pastry Chef; did they have another profession earlier in their life; where did they train or attend school; what are they known for; awards they may hold, competitions they have won; their style of work; perhaps a picture or two of their work or the Pastry Chef him/her-self; your personal thoughts of their work or background, etc
I am not worried about the length of the paper as I will be looking at the content, spelling and punctuation, sentence structure and the information that you provide. APA is the format you will use. You may want to look at www.apastyle.org for guidance.
Please note that you are going to have to put some time and effort into this assignment and a one or two page paper is not going to offer me much.
Assignment is due week 9 at the beginning of class. If you have any questions or need assistance, I am available to help you. Point value for the writing assignment is 50 pts.
