This project is a MULTI-TASK research project.
Each task includes a part of grading.
Failure to do each task will result in a zero for that part.
Each task needs to be done by the due date, which is specified in this instruction.

Topic: Teaching the Theory of Evolution, coined by Charles Darwin, in Kansas Schools:
You will answer the following question:
1.What is Evolutionary Theory about and how does this theory conflict with the religious beliefs of Evelyn and her family?
NOTE: You will get some information about Evolutionary Theory in class and while you are reading and discussing chapter 14 of the book The Center of Everything (pages 220-238)

Requirements:
1.You are required to write a paper of at least 5 pages, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, 12pt font with a word count of at least 1,000 words.
2.You must book a time to meet with me in my office hours in 205 C Bailey on either Monday December 7th OR Wednesday December 9th (There will be a sign up sheet on my door starting 11/20/15).
3.In the office meeting you are required to bring at least 2 typed pages of your essay.
4.You will have to cite at least 2 scholarly articles in your paper and use at least 1 quote from The Center of Everything by Laura Moriarty. You will need a WORKS CITED PAGE. You should cite in MLA Format.

Grading Rubric (out of 100 points):
a. Introduction and Thesis Statement (20 points)
b. Body of the Paper and Developing Ideas (40 points)
c. Conclusion (10 points)
d. Correct Citation and Reference Page (10 points)

f. Word Count noted on top of first page of paper (5 points)
