Discussion requirement:
Throughout this module, I have stressed the importance of learning to communicate with technology professionals. However, an equally important task is getting your technologists to think like business professionals and to understand the complex environment in which your analytical operation exists.
Based on your readings this week, identify what you see as the top three challenges for getting technical teams to interact with the rest of the organization. Then, work as a team to provide a set of strategies for overcoming these challenges. Pay particular attention to addressing both the needs of the business and the needs of the technical professionals. How can you bring these two sets of priorities together and what are the key measure of value that can be emphasized as goals for progress?
In this discussion, I will be looking for evidence that you are able to see flexibility in the ability of a technology specialist, which is the ability to look for, ask for, and implement advice, particularly in areas outside of their core skills, like business process and measurement tracking. Also, I am looking for evidence that you can cooperate in groups to get things done.
