Overview:
• ENG 101: Essay #4: Alternative Assignment: Critical Analysis Essay

After reading the novel Candide, write an essay that analyzes and critiques the work. Students may interpret the meaning of the work, evaluate the quality, theorize about the books place in a larger literary context, or any combination of the three.
The criticism must be supported by passages from the work, as well as three secondary sources that are properly documented in MLA format.
The essay is to be 4-6 pages in standard MLA format, double-spaced using 12 point Times New Roman font (failure to follow these standards will result in loss of points).

SOURCES MUST BE CITED USING MLA STYLE DOCUMENTATION INCLUDING IN-TEXT CITATIONS AND A WORKS CITED PAGE.

THIS ESSAY MUST BE WRITTEN IN THIRD-PERSON, MEANING NO USE OF THE WORDS “I” OR “YOU”.
