Compare the play to a contemporary movie that looks at the issues of power and justice and male and female roles.

In her article "Dead Husbands," Kelly Marsh compares _Trifles_ to _Legally Blonde_ in terms of gender solidarity and the treatment of women by women. She has taken a play written early in the 20th Century–Trifles–and discussed it in terms of a contemporary movie–Legally Blonde.

In this paper, I want you to use Marsh’s article as a model for your own comparison and contrast of issues of power and justice in male and female roles in _Trifles_ .

Thus, in addition to comparing and contrasting the issues of power and justice in male and female roles in Trifles, I want you to also compare the play to a contemporary movie that looks at the issues of power and justice and male and female roles. Be clever and creative here. You may choose any viewpoint and any movie that interests you.

Ultimately, you’re answering the question, is the play relevant to the way we live now? Your comparison and contrast to your chosen movie and your analysis of the play will prove or deny the relevance of _Trifles_.

I would like your movie to have been made within the last 10 years. It can be SET earlier (Shutter Island, for example), but it needs to have been made between 2000-2010.

MUST USE ALL THREE SOURCES GIVEN (essays):
Alkalay-Gut. "Jury of Her Peers."
Holstein, Suzy Clarkson. "Silent Justice.
Marsh, Kelly. "Dead Husbands."

Substantial discussion of these articles ( use summary and paraphrase as well as analysis).
Clear, focused discussion of your movie. ( Do not confuse plot summary with analysis.)
A conclusion that does more than reiterate what you’ve already said.
