writing a report about 4 presentations and discuss them each
Instructions:
6. Individual Reports on Group Presentations
This is an individual piece of assessment. You will be required to write reports on four of the presentations that you attend (excluding your own!) This will include marks for the presenting group.
The reports will each consist of the following:
1. A concise description of the topic you have seen presented.
2. A discussion of the topic, which might include:
a. Yours views on the opinions expressed
b. Possible alternative views
c. Closely related issues
d. Additional evidence to support or refute the group’s conclusions
e. Comments on the importance of the topic to individuals and groups of individuals
IMPORTANT NOTES:
The maximum length of each report is two pages, and a penalty will be imposed for exceeding this limit.
For items 1 and 2 above, you are required to describe and critically discuss the topics presented by groups, rather than the way they presented them.
Although you need to attend only four presentations for the purposes of writing your reports, it will be to your advantage to attend as many as you can. These presentations have proved in the past to be a valuable source of information that is relevant to the module, and can be of use in answering examination questions. Many are also interesting, some even entertaining!
Marking criteria is as follows: Marking and justification (25%), Description of topic area (25%), Critical discussion of topic area (50%).
