Discussion: Based on the skills required to pass the new GED, what do you see are the biggest challenges? What might instructors do to support learners in obtaining those skills?

Assignments:
1. Watch the GED Exploring Reasoning through Language Arts webinar and PowerPoint.
2. Make a checklist that learners could use when taking this test to help them be successful.
3. Read the ASCD article Closing in on Close Reading.
4. Find a short article of your choosing. Write at least one prompt or question using each of the sections of craft techniques from the Close Reading article. Provide your article and the questions.
