Adequate 43 points The student has selected two sources from the lesson and found another source. Needs Improvement 38 points The student has not selected a total of three sources as directed.

30 Explanation 30 points The student has written four to six sentences clearly explaining the source selection process and how each source relates to the essay. 25 points The student has written four to six sentences explaining the source selection process. 21 points The student has written four to six sentences explaining the sources. 18 points The student has not written four to six sentences about the sources.

10 Conventions 10 points Final draft demonstrates excellent attention to detail with zero grammatical errors. 8 points Final draft demonstrates good control of conventions; errors are few and minor and do not distract from ideas. 7 points Final draft demonstrates adequate control of conventions; errors distract from ideas or impede understanding at times. 6 points Final draft needs to be revised and edited to demonstrate basic understanding of conventions.
