Pick a statute, a court case, or an area of the law to research and analyze. The paper should be at a minimum 5-7 pages and should have 10 total sources. Only 2 sources can be news sources. I
would like to see sources such as statutes (state or federal), court cases (appellate court level), and/or law review articles. All of these can be located using Westlaw, which is available to you
under library databases on the UHD website. The reference librarians can help you if you are having problems using Westlaw. I have also previously posted a link to an online tutorial for Westlaw.
Please do NOT use WIKIPEDIA and/or the textbook as cited sources!
The paper should be in 12 point font (such as Times New Roman or Courier). Throughout the paper, please use ENDNOTES (NOT footnotes) to indicate the source used for each sentence or set of
sentences/paragraph (in the event that you use one source for several sentences or a whole paragraph). Please also prepare a bibliography or "Works Cited" page in addition to the
endnotes. You can insert an endnote by going to "References" on Word, and hit "Insert Endnote."
IMPORTANT: Overall, I want the paper to be analytical in nature rather than merely descriptive. If you include your opinion, please explain what information you relied upon to formulate your
opinion
