At the end of chapters 3 through 15 in your Leadership Theory and Practice text you will find self-assessment instruments that measure various skills needed for effective leadership. They are designed to give you a sense of your leadership strengths and weaknesses. Complete at least five of these instruments then choose one that you would like to focus on. You can select one with results that reflects who you are now or who you would like to be. Based on what you learned from these instruments about your leadership abilities, complete the following:
1. Define your leadership style.
2. Explain why you think your style is effective. For example, do you delegate or are you supportive? Is coaching or directing your style? Can you be authoritative or is team leadership your approach?
3. Describe the traits that you do not have at this time and why you think they are important skills for leaders in social work to develop. Support your choices with the literature.
You will use this information in your final project.
