  1. What are your career plans?

After I complete my Organizational Leadership degree, I plan to work with underprivileged youth between the ages of 12-18. This could be either at my church, the YMCA, Urban League or similar non-profit organization. My goal is mentor and influence youth who may not have positive male role models in their lives. I’d also like to plan events to places outside of their “usual environment” which they  may otherwise have never thought of visiting, as well as provide college tours for them so that they will know that the opportunity to go to college is certainly available if they have a desire for higher education.

  1. How well suited are you to your current employment?

I’m pretty well suited with my current employment as I have been in my current position for nearly eight years and with the company for almost 9 years.

  1. Why do you think you will be successful in your future career direction?

Currently, I volunteer with the youth department at my church- working with teens between the age group that I listed in question 1. I think my experience in this area will play a major role in my future career as it has allowed me to see first-hand how teenagers today interact with each other and adults. There was slight anxiety during my very first encounter with the teens as I didn’t know what to expect but over the past 4 years it has been a great experience as we have been able to grow together and learn from one another. Although I don’t see my future role as a managerial position, I do think that human skills, which is the ability to work well with others, is imperative in order to maintain a positive relationship with the teens (Robbins, Coulter 2012).

  1. My career goal is to build my own company in 2 years in America. I am a contemporary university undergraduate student, who has already experienced three year’s university life ad faced graduating form it now. However I don’t want to take the exams of postgraduate. I awoke to my opportunities that my father has own companies in China and some of my classmates whose are in the university, their family also has their own companies in their country. It is time for me to do my own business on import and export trade.
  2. Business administration is my favorite subject, into which I poured great ardor and efforts. When I was young, my father did business with me. He also wants me to go into business with him one day. On the other hand, every time I face the problems. I will come up with sacks full of new ideas. I enjoy that process.
  3. Because I already make a detailed plan for myself to do the business. First, I did a Self-assessment. I understand my personal and career goal, my interests, preferences, strengths and weaknesses like I talk about in question 1. According to the “rich dad and poor dad”, the poor dad suggest that everyone should go to school, get high grades and then get a good job. However, the rich dad suggests that follow your heart, do what you like and let money follows you (Kiyosaki and Sharon, 1998).Second, I consider my options and identify which available roles fit my interests and abilities. Third, I develop and implement a career strategy. The last but not the least, later on, I am going to review and adjust my career strategy
