Write a 3 page memorandum (Los Angeles Police Department)
o Acting as a Command Level Officer, brief your agency on a critical incident which just occurred and make recommendations on how to respond to the media base in particular concentrating on the Gillingham article on Public Relations Management and the Critical Incident Management text.
o Event will be of the student’s design (e.g.: Active Shooter, Earthquake- or other natural disaster, Weapon Mass Destruction Response, Officer Involved Shooting)
· then Write a one (1) page press release for the media regarding the above event
o Acting as Incident Commander’s designee- Craft a media response to the above event
o Utilize the Los Angeles Police Department’s format
