August 3, 2017Consider the structure and appointments of the tombs constructed for King Cuo of Zhongshan (died 321 BCE), the Marquis Yi of Zeng (died 433 BCE) Warring States aristocrats from the perspectives of their owners. What do their tombs and their contents tell us about how the dead were different from the living? How were they the same?
