Website Development for Beginers;

In this unit, you will be able to identify the: what and why of creating a website.
Vocabulary
Presentation software: Slide-based software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint and StarOffice Star Impress – these can create a sense of professionalism.
Site map: A hierarchical representation of a website that enables visitors to quickly identify areas of the site and navigate to them.
Stakeholder input: This includes but is not limited to the purpose of the website, look and feel, services that the audience requires from the site, funds available to develop the site, and development timelines.
Stakeholders: Relevant organization employees or contributors who can provide or help determine answers on various aspects of a website such as the purpose, look and feel, and/or funds available to develop the site.
Storyboard: Another name for a website plan.
Testing functionality: Ensuring that the site performs well technically before it is published to the Web. This involves items such as testing the site in multiple browsers.
Web development project life cycle: Stages that describe the creation of a website from the beginning stage to the implementation stage.
Website plan: A plan that includes items such as a statement discussing the purpose and intended audience for the site and a rough outline of the pages needed.
