Thesis statement: Technology has become an integral part of criminal investigation. Criminal investigators are turning more and more to online social networking sites in order to gain evidence and information during criminal investigations. Although this relatively new resource can be extremely useful to an investigation, it can also bring up legal questions regarding privacy and the rights of citizens.
