Thiscourseworkshouldbecompletedandsubmitted at theFacultyofficeT313onor before4.00p.m. on 13January 2013. Late submissionsarenotacceptableexceptincircumstancesbeyond students’ control thatmustbesupported by thecoursedirector.
Aims:
Recognise the scope of applications of FEA
Know how to use ANSYS Workbench Platform to solve Engineering Problems and Analysis
The report should contain the following:
1. Problem formulation.
2. Create the optimal mesh density.
3. One graph showing the plot of finite element values of beam vertical deflections
4. One graph showing the plot of finite element values of beam direct stress due to bending (on top surface).
5. One graph showing the plot of finite element values of direct stress due to bending, at mid-span, through the beam depth
6. Conclusions, and in particular, a brief discussion on the results obtained.
Please submit your report, written/printed on one side only, stapled in top left corner, with the enclosed marking scheme as the front cover, filling in your surname.
