English as a second language

(i) Investigate and discuss theory and best practice in teaching students whose background includes English as a second language, making reference to the ACARA resource ‘English as an Additional Language or Dialect: Teacher Resource’.
(ii) Select a general lesson or topic that you would typically teach in your subject area. Identify and briefly explain 5-10 different strategies that you could implement to support the learning of a student with ESL background in that context.

I am undergoing teachers training course for high school students. My subject is Physics. For the second half of the assignment, a topic like current electricity, waves, energy and force can be taken.
