The Emissions trade scheme – “Critical assessment of the ETS in a global context”

The first things you should know is, the teacher don’t want me write about what is ETS but , Its about how the world effect by using ETS.
Apart from introduction,
1. Simply talk about the ETS
2. Currently situation:
? How does it work and how does it effect on the environmental policy in Europe.
(You don’t need talk about why we need the ETS for pollutions but how it works for limiting the pollutions. ) Here you can use examples which could be find in the journals. type emissions trading scheme then u find articles about it.
? How does it work and effect on the rest of geographical region. Such as USA and Asia,(China) ,Australian. U will find it in the journals or webside, becos he needs the global context.

3. What is the positive side of using ETS,

4. What is the negative side of using ETS. For example , in German , assume they have 15% pollution rate, In Poland, they have 5% pollution rate. And the ETS is 10%. So German buy another 5% from Poland, in order to get permission of pollution. BUT in fact , the ETS didn’t reduced. This is just a rough example. Please find more detail about other examples.

5. Conclusion

The text book is still useful, may take 200 words form it.

The emissions trading scheme is the biggest multinational emissions trading scheme in the world (Ellermanet al, 2007). Over 10,000 installations are covered by this scheme, which produce over 20 mega watts of heat in energy.

• The student should argue in how far ETS has to be assessed critical with regard to the geographical region it covers
• What are the problems with regard to the overall goal “fighting climate change”
• This report shall critically assess the current situation of the emissions trade scheme to provide a sound reasoning for the topic “critical assessment of the ETS in a global context
