Students view a movie and evaluate intercultural communication illustrated in that movie. Students explore how culture influences communication and relationships and demonstrate their understanding of intercultural communication by referencing verbal and nonverbal communications; cultural beliefs, values, and symbols; identities; and communication challenges evident in the movies. Using examples from the movie, students compare and contrast one or more themes, such as stereotypes, identities, culture and power, intercultural conflict, globalization, cultural change, acculturation, etc. Students are assessed on their ability to apply course concepts, synthesize supporting evidence, reflect on diverse perspectives, and write cohesive paragraphs including a thesis statement that is fully supported throughout the paper.

Paper includes: 1) title page; 2) abstract; 3) four- to five-page body; and 4) reference page.

The paper must cite at least four scholarly sources and be formatted in APA Style.
