A Life Experiences, Skills and Professional Attributes
Identify prior educational, employment and other experience relevant to professional development in social work. Discuss strengths for furthering professional growth.
B Diversity Characteristics of Student, Clients and Organization
Discuss the demographic factors (e.g. cultural, ethnic, gender, social class, sexual orientation, age) and the implications of similarities and/or differences you experience in worker/client, student/community, and worker/organization relationships.
C Characteristic Learning Patterns and Obstacles
Identify and discuss your response(s) to your current learning situation in your agency and in school, including your understanding of the learner role. Identify your learning style and implications for supervision and learning. Note strengths as well as any obstacles to learning which may impede your understanding, acceptance, and use of knowledge for professional performance. Differentiate between what you see as characteristics of being a student at this learning phase from those that are unique to you and which may interfere with developing practice skills. Feel free to refer to you experience of doing the abbreviated Meyers-Briggs exercise and other course activities.
