A goal of this course is to examine and understand some of the key issues related to CSR/Sustainability and explore challenges and opportunities facing organizations in an increasing turbulent environment where global issues influence firm strategies and successes. This course recognizes the continuously evolving and hyper competitive environment that organizations operate in and that this will require continuous learning and continuous engagement in knowledge, critical analysis and reflective learning. Completion of the Weekly Learning Reflections will support your achievement of learning outcomes 1,2,3,4,5, and 6.
To encourage reflection, you are required to answer the questions on a weekly basis. The questions are listed below, according to the week in which they are to be submitted. These questions will be based on the material covered during that week and require that you demonstrate learning of the unit outcomes.
You must use APA formatting for your answers including the use of in-text citations and referencing as needed. This includes using double-spacing, numbering pages, referencing sources properly both in-text and in the reference page, and using headings where appropriate to help with reading clarity. Pay attention to your spelling and grammar as you will be penalized as described in the marking rubric.
INSTRUCTIONS:
for this week you will only have to answer only 2 of the 3 questions: (EACH question should be answered one page double spaced at least):
1. In what way does Chandlers (2017) discussion of strategic CSR incorporate the concept of defining value and competitive advantage as discussed by Porter. Give a Canadian example (a for-profit firm) where CSR (or the use of the UN Sustainable Development Goals) is a competitive advantage for that example.
2. Chandler (2019) states that companies can pursue an effective corporate social responsibility policy of either offense or defense. What does this mean in the context of the application of CSR strategies.
3. Describe the variation of CSR thresholds and give examples of each of those three variations using Canadian firms?
Note that you do need citations to support your claims. Your arguments have to be supported by evidence that demonstrates that you accomplished the course readings. A proper citation is as follows: (Chandler, 2020, p. 20). Your references need to have a hanging indent and be formatted according to APA requirements. Don’t be sloppy and please provide a title page and double-spacing and use the right file naming and type for your reflections. Use the Turnitin tool as it can help you paraphrase anything that looks like it was copied and to catch unintended cut-and-paste accidents.
*My professor puts these reflections in TurnitIn so please make sure it is your opinions a long with ideas from the textbook. I have problems in the passed where people were not using their own words so please do not plagiarize as i can get into a lot of trouble. Please make reference to which page in the chandler textbook you grab ideas from as well. I have attached PDF file of the textbook as you need it in order to answer these questions.
ALSO ONLY ANSWER 2 OF THE QUESTIONS NOT 3!
