Expository writing The paper should be similar to a report. It is fact based and it should present facts, figures, and authoritative opinions not commonly known.General statements must be supported with specific detail. The paper should make use of concrete sensory detail and examples to make ideas clear. The paper must be prepared in proper MLA format and must include a works cited page. Works cited page should be at page 6. At least three outside sources. Three outside sources must be used, and all three must be periodicals. A large number of outside sources does not increase the likelihood of receiving a better grade. The paper must be 4+ pages, for full pages with some minimum text on page five. Papers not meeting these standards will not be accepted. No first or second person may be used unless found in a quotation from an outside source. The paper must have an easily identifiable statement and topic sentences for each section of the paper.Organization of ideas is critical for this assignment, and students should use an outline in preparing to write this paper.
