In Historic Preservation and the Imagined West, Judy Morley uses examples from three different Western cities to discuss how city planners and residents reshaped portions of their community to create historic landscapes. Using at least one example from each of the three cities, discuss how these historic neighborhoods diverged from their original appearances or uses. What changed or remained the same? Which individuals or groups were the most/least influential in determining these districts current uses and appearance? Were any historic groups or uses associated with the site overlooked or suppressed? Just how historicare these reinvented neighborhoods? In the end, what worked or did not work in the process of saving and reusing these communities?
