Assessment
You are required to read carefully the (RYANAIR) case study and comprises the following tasks.
1. Analyse the current strategic position of your organisation ( requires an analysis of both the external environment and strategic capability of the organisation)
2. From the above analysis, critically appraise the current strategy the organisation is pursuing and identify any changes in strategic direction and development methods you would recommend as a result of such appraisal.
3. Critically analyse the problems encountered in implementing your organisation’s strategy and change, and recommend how these problems might be overcome.
Marking scheme
Analysis of the current situation (30%)
Identification of key strategic issues facing the organisation
Ability to analyse the impact of such issues on the organisation
Ability to identify and apply appropriate models in analysing the current situation
Ability to draw conclusions from models utilised in your analysis
Appraisal of current strategy (30%)
Identification of current corporate and business level strategy
Appraisal of current strategy against evaluation criteria of suitability, feasibility and acceptability
Based on appraisal and evaluation of current strategy, ability to make justifiable recommendations for future attainment of competitive advantage and strategic direction
Evaluating strategic implementation and managing change (30%)
Identification and discussion of key issues when implementing strategy and change
Theoretically underpinned discussion of how such problems can be overcome
Discussion and evaluation of key tools and techniques for managing change
Presentation (10%)
Well structured and table of contents
Appropriate use is made of visual presentation and information
Evidence of proof reading
Bibliographic details are correct

Please note that the main text for this module is (Johnson, G, Scholes, K. and Whittington,R. (2008), Exploring Corporate Strategy: Text and cases, 8th edition, Pearson Education Limited). Therfore, all methods that need to be applied in this case study tasks (such as PESTOL, 5 Forces, Valu Chain Analysis, etc) must be the same used in the mentioned text. As will as you will need to visit the (Rynair website-http://www.ryanair.com/en)and other websites to obtian more information, as the case study information is back to 2008.
Further more, I have attached the case study, so if you need any more information don’t hisitate to contact me, I need A+ mate!!!
