Reflect on a time in your life in which you felt you mattered to a specific group or individual. Describe in writing the specific situation and what it felt like to be “in” with that group or

individual. Then describe a time in your life when you felt you were marginal – someone or some group kept you on the margins and you never felt you were “in” with them.
