Essay must effectively demonstrate how Paine’s Common Sense was an expression of the American cause.
Essay must include an interesting introductory paragraph with a focusing thesis statement, body paragraphs that supported the thesis using specific elements from the reading (including commentary, analysis, reflection, discussion, and short quotes), and end with a summary conclusion.

Primary source must be Common Sense by Thomas Paine Bantam Classics February 2004. EACH IN-TEXT CITATION MUST INCLUDE PAGE NUMBER.
