“Impact of Browsers on Web Design” Please respond to the following:

Question 1) Due to the internal style sheets of some browsers, your Website may look different to someone who is using Firefox as opposed to Internet Explorer. Imagine that you are a Web designer. Explain how would you address this problem and eradicate these inconsistencies.

Question 2) Imagine that you are Web designer for a company of your choice (travel, bank, pet food, hair salon, high school, college, landscaper, retail store, etc.). Identify the company and describe what you would check to ensure that a Website is compatible with most browsers.

“Layouts and Access” Please respond to the following:

Question 1) Envision that you have been asked to create a Website for a bookstore that sells e-Books. Taking into consideration how customers might log in to shop, determine the type of layout you would use. Explain how you came to this decision.

Question 2) From the e-Activity, analyze the difference between designing a Website that will be accessed primarily by computer users, to designing a Website that will be accessed primarily by iPhone users. Predict how designing a Website for iPhone users would impact margins, padding, boarders, and positioning elements.

“Troubleshooting Tables” Please respond to the following:

Question 1) Imagine that an associate of yours just designed a table with captions outside the tables borders. The font on the Website is black, and the text inside the table is red. He is frustrated because the captions he placed outside of the table are not black, but rather red. Predict how this happened and provide three recommendations to help resolve your colleagues dilemma.

Question 2) There are many creative uses for tables. Imagine that you have been hired to create a Website for a fashion designer who wants a unique page that stands out. Describe how you could use tables to meet this goal.

“Table Designing for New Technologies” Please respond to the following:

Question 1)As technology evolves, Web designers can no longer just assume that all individuals accessing their site are using computers. Suppose that you have been hired to create a Website for a retailer who insists that tables must be used. Explain how you could build the site so that the table would be compatible with nontraditional devices.

Question 2) From the e-Activity, discuss whether or not W3C standards exist for developing content for smart phones, iPads, and other wireless technologies. Analyze the important role that standards play in terms of specifications, guidelines, software, and tools.

Question 1) Imagine that a local college hired you to look at a lengthy form on the universitys office of admissions Website. Prospective students have been calling the office to request information instead of utilizing the universitys Website. The form contains 32 fields, which must be filled in by the user. At the bottom of the form there are send and reset form buttons. Identify aspects of the form that could be frustrating users. Provide at least three recommendations that will encourage the students to utilize the universitys Website.

Question 2) From the first e-Activity, describe three techniques for optimizing Web form submission usability. Select the technique that you prefer to use and explain why.
