INSTRUCTIONS NOT FOLLOWED: They are the basis for providing you with the theoretical framework and vocabulary. The Langlois essay in particular does a good job of laying out the framework for you to use.
Your task is to read a policy on human rights by a reputable institute such as Human Rights Watch or Amnesty International (and there are, of course, many others) and to do a conceptual analysis of their position.
The essay should be about 500 words (two pages) and it is due Monday. In it,
Spend the first half or so outlining the policy’s aim, origins, justification etc. This is the summary portion.
The second half of the essay is to explain their theoretical assumptions – explicit or implicit. You may, as an example if relevant, explain whether this falls under “group rights” and if so what are the justifications provided and whether the justifications fit the model of group rights. (Again, Langlois will provide you with a very easy outline of these types of rights).
