I want you to write a 2-3 page introduction to my subject ( How can teenage drivers be convinced to drive more safely? ) and address a specific problem associated with my subject for which you will be proposing a solution. Please use same sources that you have used in the previous order ( you can find them in the attachment ). Below is a suggested format: Introduction 1. Begin with a research based definition of your subject and cite your source using either a narrative tag or a parenthetical citation. 2. Using data obtained through your research, trace the origin and history of your subject. You may either direct quotes, paraphrase, or summarize information; just be sure to properly cite your sources. 3. Explain the causes and effects of your subject as stated in your research articles. Use parenthetical citations to properly cite your sources. 4. Discuss current thought trends on your subject. What do the researchers, sociologists, politicians, or other experts think and believe about your issue? Statement of the problem Once you have introduced your subject, be very specific in stating a problem associated with your subject that you will use as the focus of your solution. Using information from your articles where needed, answer the following questions. 1. What is the problem? 2. Why is it a problem? 3. For whom is this a problem? 4. What will be the affect if the problem is not addressed? 5. End by using one of the following three lines of reasoning to convince your reader that action is needed on this problem: a. Arguing from Principle: Something needs to be done because it is the right thing to do b. Arguing from Precedent: Something needs to be done because it has been done successfully in another case. c. Arguing from Consequence: Something needs to be done because of good or bad consequences.
