Activities such as volunteering, joining an organisation, altruism and reciprocity are all examples of social capital. This topic asks you to compare elements and examples of social capital in rural and urban Australia and, based on a critical analysis of the readings, determine where it is stronger and how government policy could build social capital where it is weaker.
