LITERACY

 

 

Submit and discuss with the instructor your choice of a topic related to our course content and using a minimum of 4 articles from peer-reviewed professional journals and other educational materials or videos, create an electronic presentation to introduce your peers to the topic. Each presentation should be 10-15 minutes in length and include two discussion questions and/or activities for group participation. You will lead the discussion. Proper citation of resources is expected. Submit one copy of your power point hand-out to the instructor.

0 points: No presentation

 

 

 

1-2 points: does not follow time limit (goes over or under); does not find at least 2 peer reviewed articles; does not present highlights of articles; does not present main concepts in articles

 

 

 

3-4 points: follows time limit; does not find at least 2 peer reviewed articles; does not present highlights of articles; does not present main concepts in articles

 

 

 

5-6 points: follows time limit; uses at least 2 peer reviewed articles; does not present (or inadequately presents) highlights of articles; does not present main concepts in articles

 

 

 

7-8 points: follows time limit; uses at least 2 peer reviewed articles; presents in-depth highlights of articles; does not adequately present main concepts in articles

 

 

 

9-10 points: follows time limit; uses at least 2 peer reviewed articles; presents in-depth highlights of articles; provides in-depth explanations and insights into main concepts in articles

 

 

 

DISCUSSION (10 POINTS)

 

0 points: No discussion

 

 

 

1-4: reads off notes; does not present any questions; does not call on peers for their questions or comments; does not create a stimulating and insightful discussion

7-9: demonstrates knowledge and understanding of materials without reading notes; presents at least 2 questions/activities; inadequately calls on peers for their questions or comments; does not create a stimulating and insightful discussion

 

 

 

10 points: demonstrates knowledge and understanding of materials without reading notes; presents at least 2 comprehensive questions/activities; heavily integrates peer participation and calls actively on peers for their questions or comments; creates an extremely stimulating and insightful discussion
