Fire B25c Terminal Exercise

Fire B25c Terminal Exercise

The required research paper is to be based on a review of several sources of information on any topic that is related to wildland fire suppression. This could include any topic related to wildland fire suppression or prevention.
Such topics could include fire fighting strategy and tactics, use of aircraft, hand crews, structure protection or any other subject from the course. You are to explain the use, selection or other aspects of your chosen subject, such as comparing the use of helicopters versus air tankers or one tactic over another. Examples are encouraged, based on what was presented in the course. You should have at least three sources from which you gathered your information. Another approach would be to compare and contrast structure protection versus perimeter control and the differences between them.
Paper is to be five pages in length, double spaced and typed. Be sure and put your name on the first page. The cover page, if you create one, does not count as page in the paper.
Paper is to be divided into four sections:
Introduction €“ a short discussion of the topic and its significance (why it is important).
Body €“ an in depth review of the available literature. If directly quoting or paraphrasing an author €“indicate author last name and date in parentheses (Klinoff, 2002) at end of sentence. Note: when quoting directly use quotation marks and periods go outside of quotation marks XXX.
Conclusion €“ A summary of the findings and your thoughts on what was found through the research. This is the part where your opinion comes in.
References €“ listing in alphabetical order of the author’s names. Name (last name first and first initial). Title. Publisher, City. Pg. or pp. ****.
At least three reference sources are required. The course text(s) may be used where applicable.
