Topic 1a: Explain in your own words: how can a value-driven approach improve the likelihood of IT project success? Provide references in APA format.

 

Topic 2: Ethics: Compare and contrast ethical leadership and unethical leadership qualities in an ethnically diverse and multicultural workplace in terms of project management. Please provide at least one (1) example of each after your explanation.

Topic 2a: Read the Case Scenario below: Explain in great detail what you would do in the situation presented in the case scenario and provide your rationale, utilizing the eight-stage process for making a sound ethical decision from pages 407–409 in your textbook.

Case Scenario:

The CIO of your organization walks into your office one Friday afternoon. As he closes

the door behind him he says that “If you say anything to anyone concerning what I am

about to tell you, you are fired.” He then explains that the team of programmers that you

supervise will be “released to seek other options” and that all of your project’s

programming tasks will be outsourced to a country in Eastern Europe. Your job is to

coordinate with this new outsource provider so that all programming work can be

scheduled and transferred over in less than 3 months. In addition, you are not to let on

to any of the company’s programmers that they will soon be replaced. He instructs you

to carry on as nothing has changed. In fact, the company will give them a bonus if they

can complete their current work assignment in three months rather than the scheduled

four months.

As the project manager of this team, you have gotten to know each of the programmers

fairly well. One of the programmers has just signed a mortgage to purchase her first

house. Another is a single mother with her oldest child just entering college, and

another has confided in you that he has been experiencing some health problems lately.

Topic 9: Project Procurement, Implementation, Closure, and Evaluation: What is outsourcing? How does it relate to project procurement management?

Topic 9a: Steps for Closure: Describe some of the steps for administrative closure.

Topic 10: Explain how you would encourage and enforce ongoing training amongst staff on newly implemented systems.

Topic 10a: Imagine you need to redesign the workflow of the medical coders in Health Information Management in order to accommodate the new financial reimbursement program that is being installed in the Business Office. Explain the impact of this system on the medical coders and detail how you would redesign their workflow around this new program.
