Foodborne Outbreak Investigation

Describe the microorganism responsible for the outbreak, the outcome of the outbreak, and use at least 2 peer-reviewed journal articles to describe an investigation aspect of the outbreak. Check the CDC, MMWR, and/or the FDA for locating prior outbreaks and how they are described. The assignment is broken into 4 parts as follows: Description Length Points Part One Describe the biological foodborne hazard. Give characteristics that are important to its health significance including the 1) type of microorganism, 2) description of the hazard, 3) cause of illness, 4) signs and symptoms, 5) onset of signs and symptoms, 6) duration of illness, 7) any longterm/chronic effects, 8) unique characteristics of this hazard, and 9) in general, any treatments needed and effectiveness of the treatment(s). 1-2 paragraphs 4 Part Two Provide a synopsis of the outbreak due to the specified foodborne hazard including 1) who and how many were affected, 2) source of the outbreak, 3) where did the outbreak occur, 4) onset and duration of the outbreak, 5) any treatments used, 6) long-term outcome from the outbreak, and 7) any prevention methods used. 1-2 paragraphs 4 Part Three Discuss the investigation of this outbreak. Choose one aspect of the investigation into determining the source of the outbreak; this may include the diagnosis of the patients, the surveillance technique used to identify the hazard, or the methods used to test a food or water supply for the biological hazard WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET?
