My love for nursing grew in my formative years, and my family’s owned hospital in China reinforced my interest in the field. Nonetheless, the profession has changed over time as technology has improved medical care, but the ethical principles governing nursing are still the same. Nowadays, the profession is more diverse than ever before, which makes the career challenging, but also worthwhile. Even though, I grew up in China, nursing upholds universal values, and I believe that through compassionate care I will be able to work anywhere as a registered nurse. Being a College student, I now wish to transfer to University of Washington and major in Nursing, which I believe is best suited for me in my attempt to gain knowledge and work as a nurse.
