Brand Impact and Popular Culture

Each individual student will submit a theme board. The theme board should have between 12 minimum and 15 maximum frames. The theme board should use frameworks, concepts of branding to examine the link between a chosen celebrity and chosen brand.

Covering statement – 30%

Each individual student will submit a covering statement. This should be useful to explain,

discuss and evaluate the theme board. This should be submitted along with your theme

board. The word limit for this is 1000 words, +/- 10%. This should be is essay/article format

and not in report format.

Theme board = 70% of overall mark

Use 12 to 15 visuals

Visuals – can be pictures, images, diagrams, little objects, branding related concepts

You are free to be imaginative, ingenious, creative yet rational

Organise your visuals to tell your story, theme, journey

You have to choose either a product/services/technology/retail brand

You have to choose a celebrity brand, you can choose and define any celebrity as long as you can justify your choice

The business & celebrity brand should not be currently linked

Theme board – Key tasks – Marks out of 100

Choose one business brand (product or service or technology or retail) to link with a celebrity brand, currently not linked = 10 marks

Use the brand typology model to demonstrate the link between the business brand and celebrity brand = 10 marks

Demonstrate how the business and celebrity brand might influence one specific target segment = 20 marks

In what way does the business and celebrity brand personality reflect/relate to a typical individual from the target segment = 20 marks

How might the business and celebrity brand project at least two attributes of added value = 20 marks

Project three key business/celebrity brand values? = 20 marks

Justify choice of business brand and celebrity brand = 100 words

Clarify brand typology link between the business brand and celebrity brand = 100 words

Explain how the business and celebrity brand might influence one specific target segment = 200 words

Discuss how business and celebrity brand personality reflect/relate to a typical individual from the target segment = 200 words

Evaluate how might the business and celebrity brand project at least two attributes of added value = 200 words

Discuss three key business/celebrity brand values = 200 words
