Specialized culture membership is reflected in our beliefs, values, ways of communicating language and artifacts we use.  Some examples would be on how we classify ourselves by occupation, religion, ethnic or racial affiliation. Other classifications are social class, region of the country, and sexual orientation.

1.    What cultural affiliation is central to you & how you see yourself? Please describe relevant beliefs, traditions, holidays, material artifacts, festivals or special holidays, etc. that embody your cultural affiliation. ** For interviewer — a good probe would be to ask person to just generally describe their cultural affiliation in their own words. ask them to think of a time when their cultural membership was important did it occur in childhood? Or later in life? Is it related to family traditions? or other experiences? How did they learn about their culture and identify with it?

2.    How does your cultural affiliation shape how you see yourself? And how you communicate with others. ** for interviewer please keep in mind the cultural features in your book High/low context, Masculinity/femininity, High/low power distance, & Individualism/collectivism?

3.    Ask your own question an extension of the answers you received or something else.

4.    What are your conclusions think about expanding your perspective- what did you learn?
