Topic: Health Promotion Paper

Health Promotion Paper:
The paper will identify risk behaviors that may be modified by health promotion education and compare this risk behavior/health promotion with another global society. For example, childhood immunization guidelines in the US compared to immunization guidelines in Russia. What is the immunization guideline of each country and what would you teach a family moving to the US from Russia?
Health Promotion Guidelines:
The paper should identify risk behavior in maternal-child health that may be modified by the health promotion education (examples-smoking, drugs, immunizations, breast feeding, pre-natal care, nutrition, safety, growth and development.
Health Promotion Paper Guidelines:
I. Health Risk Behavior (6 points)-Identify a specific global society (country or culture, not continent) and compare/contrast a health risk behavior in the United States with that society. Discuss the health risk behaviors of both populations.
II. Plan of Action (8 points)-Develop a plan of action to change or modify the risk behavior. Include educational needs and be sure to integrate the culture/society values and beliefs into the plan of action.
III. Resources (3 points) – Describe resources available to the family to help modify or change the behavior. Include resources available locally as well as nationally. (if only nationally, thats fine with me-Lisa)
IV. References (1 point) – Your research should include at least two NURSING articles and two web sites. Nursing articles should be published within the last 8 years. Web sites or additional sources used should be from credible organizations or sources. The information should also reflect the most current research. PLEASE include a copy of the articles and web sites with your paper.
V. Format, Grammar, Spelling, etc. (6 points)
The paper mut have five to eight pages of content. It should be typed and double-spaced using a 12-point font. Utilize current APA style for the title page, reference list, headers, and citations within the text. Headings are required to organize and assure that all objectives are addressed. Use one (1) inch margins. Number ALL pages. The paper must be written in third person and include an introduction and a summary. All appendices must be appropriately identified and referred to in the body of the paper. The paper should be clear, concise and cohesive, and incorporate proper grammar and spelling.
