Explain the mode of inheritance controlling coat color

Question: In cattle, coat color may be white, black, or black and white spotted. When true breeding white cattle are crossed with true-breeding black stock, the F1 is all solid white. Following an F1 X F1 crosses, the following phenotypic frequencies were recorded:

122 solid white : 31 black and white spotted : 9 solid black.

1.) Explain the mode of inheritance controlling coat color in these cattle.
2.) How many gene pairs are involved and which genotypes yield which phenotypes?
3.) Is it possible to isolate a pure-breeding line of black and white spotted cattle? WHY OR WHY NOT?
